Combat The Strands Of Fur That Often Accumulate On Fabric

Your fluffy puppy may be what you consider 'man's best friend' for the majority of the time, but occasionally you could feel disgusted when you find that your pet's fur is stuck to furnishings and your clothing. Combat this common problem by using the grooming and maintenance tips below. As a result, you will no longer need to contend with fur accumulating on fabric.

Use Grooming Gloves

Pet grooming gloves are a popular pet product that are constructed of cotton and have flexible nodules on the interior side of each glove. Gloves come in several sizes and colors. After purchasing a pair of gloves, cover your hands with them and sit down with a towel draped over your lap. Call your puppy to you and lift your pet up before setting them down across your lap.

Move both of your glove-covered hands across your pet's body. As the nodules come into contact with loose pieces of fur, the fur will be lifted from your pet's body and will stick to the palm of each glove. After grooming your pet, simply use a plastic putty knife or another flexible tool to remove the fur from each glove.

If you purchase a pair of grooming gloves that are designed to be used for standard grooming and during baths, put the gloves on each time that you bathe your pet to assist with removing loose fur in between grooming sessions.

Cover Furnishings, Hang Clothing, And Use A Lint Roller

Vaccuming fabric-coverings may become a tiresome chore if your pet begins shedding excessively. To reduce the amount of cleaning that you are faced with, purchase slipcovers to place over fabric coverings so that fabric does not come into contact with pet fur. Slipcovers are easy to maintain and will not affect the beauty of each furnishing if you choose to purchase covers that are clear.

Make an effort to hang clothing on a daily basis so that your puppy does not have the opportunity to lie on clothing that is dispersed throughout your home. If clothes are dirty, place them in a hamper so that your puppy does not have access to them. Purchase a lint roller and keep it in your bedroom.

If you pick up your puppy and notice that a few pieces of fur are stuck to your shirt or pants, head into your bedroom to retrieve the lint roller. Move the roller back and forth over the fur covered fabric until all of the pieces of fur have been collected.
